Yep, MC was holding back until the teachers came, he knew he wouldn't be believed had they arrived after the situation flip, he needed them there, I don't remember he going for the girl in the novel but is a nice touch, no doubt he had calculated one of the adults would have stopped him, he needed to make a statement to the whole class that if he gets bullied again, even "only" with words, he would jump on their ass.
