Wut. Why does he have to run away?...

He has an appraisal skill. Otherwise, just cremate the bodies. I guess that he has nowhere else to go since he lived at church. But, what about the other orphans (if any) or the town?...

He has their fortune too... whaaa

@Shadowii it seems to copy a random ability when he appraises someone. Considering it is rarity EX, and the MC lore-dumped how those are rare, I'm guessing the jump between rarity A to EX is basically, "god tier skill, fuck the A-tier scrubs."

jesus christ, this is going to be one of those isekai where very time theres a self status check, its going to be a novel worth of skills that I'm not even sure the author can keep up with. Lets just see how well this goes.

also, second nitpick, how do the elven princesses always get kidnapped or go missing from their home kingdom??? They have the entire royal guards at their disposal and yet they get kidnapped, and the kingdom doesn't even send search squads looking for them. (And if they do, the search squads search like 2 meters from their home forest until they give up and consider them lost)

@SweatyBrie Running away is actually the right thing. Logic wise, appraisal is a rare skill, don't know there is skill like investigate or something like that or not, chance are other people will see him as a murderer, whether they jailed him or just do "mob justiced" is up to luck so running away is the safest choice for now. Plot wise, he just turn 15, a 15 years old panic and run away after doing something extreme like killing someone is what should happened, unless he's a natural cold-blooded murderer.

When will Japan stop giving this steal/copy ability to MC? I've already lost count of how many LN/manga that have MC with this power already. Seriously, it's the laziest form of character development ever; second only level max.

Let's get out the bingo cards!

- MC has appraisal skill - check!
- Information gets conveyed through gamelike status panels and condensed into ranks ranging from F/E/D to S/EX - check!
- MC has the ability to copy / steal skills from others - check!
- MC's childhood friend turns out to randomly be nobility/royalty - check!
aaaand *drumroll*
- The author apparently breaks their own established rules within the same chapter - check!
According to the MC people only get one unique skill from the goddess which is why the ceremony is so important. Both of the villains had two unique skills.

This is not even steal/copy on Appraisal EX
This can be called "Deep Learning" on Appraisal
Basically Learning a skill while reading it, unlike copy or steal, it needs to be shown (deployed) one-by-one fields or you can't learn anything unlike steal/copy that just "steal" or "copy" a skill then using it freely, Deep Learning is Observation, u need to read it then assume and use it.

This is truly cheat because like going to exam but u bring a encyclopedia to get rid of it

@Shiriushi If you mean MC can only use the skills once he observed his opponents using them before, I don't think that is the case.
It is at least heavily implied that he healed himself before attacking the fake priest.
And regarding the taijutsu and power skills of the other guy that'd mean that he obtained them while ducking from the single punch the other guy threw at him so either he dodged a guy using two skills at the same time through only his own abilities or dumb luck or he obtained these skills himself before (in my opinion the latter makes more sense).
