bro at this point fk the wait 3 months rule just let scans tanslate whatever they want and let people pick what translation they prefer that way we wont have scumbags like kirei killing series that other people would be willing to translate hell in the past some series had 4 or 5 diferent scans translating them at the same time and nobody had a problem i don't get when or where this 3 month rule came but it has ruined a lot of series

3 months rule still good for most series, especially small ones. These kind of nonsense really only happens with the bigger mangas that pulls more money.

I'm glad that you're getting emotional on my behalf but this is not the proper way to do this. they already contacted me and requesting for a Collab if possible but I refuse since I'm not good at working with people when it comes to my hobbies, in exchange I gave them a counter offer. If I see 2 chapters of raws getting stacked I'll upload, but if I dont see 2 stacked chapters I won't upload. We live in a age of free market. If free market endorse snipers then that means you failed to deliver good product. In fact, i would argue its extremely healthy for multiple groups to take on the same project as it creates competition rather than current situation that's just glorified childrens playground logic.

I would prefer you still update and if they choose to they can do so when they feel like it. Let the readers decide who they want to support rather than throw your weight around. Yep, I'm gonna scanlate up to the latest, and I told stellar-san that it's fine if they redo the chapters and upload their version, since that would be much preferable for the readers since they could give much better quality than I could.

Probably the best approach honestly, there is a palpable desire for chapters and Kirei has over the last few years become synonymous with waiting for a batch release, Frieren notwithstanding.

I'll read a Kirei release when it arrives, I always like Kirei's translations. If they're not here yet and someone else's are now I'll read those. Ah well. I'd love a collab but if you're not open to it that's fine. Consistent competition might get everyone what they want.

It's not about the competition for me, I only want it to get consistent updates. That's the sole reason I became a scanlator, to give life to the dropped or slow updates manga I love. So I don't mind at all if someone snipe me as long as they could give the readers something to read.

KC already made a reddit post couple months ago explaining the situation with the slower updates and unprioritising most series and dropping a fair number of them telling other scans to pick them up they wish too, KC still wants to do her updates but others are and have always been free to pick them up. there is nothing scummy about uploading chapters for free lmao everyone needs to take a piss and cool off. KC hasnt even accused anyone of sniping or the unspoken 3 month courtesy rule. Dude even said she msged him if they would like to help push this series along to caught up. a WIN WIN for quality and speed when no one doubts KC quality

yeah, I've seen more people say mangadex comments often come as being more of "oh thank you for the scanlation but also fuck you for uploading when someone else did even if you do it for free", pretty much asshole behavior

its not scummy, this is normal, they're doing this for free with an option to donate if you wanna support them, they have a reddit page to check and explain why the uploads are late, you're acting as if you pay access for this stuff like they owe you something. scanlators do not owe you shit at the end of the day you are reading FOR FREE, people are FREE to upload their own scanlations if they want as long as it doesn't violate mangadex's TOS and there CAN BE more than 1 version of an english scanlation
