That problem is that the hero is weaker than he should be, due to Colette and Clara living quite happily in the hero's village. Furthermore, Colette herself, who should be a valuable member of the hero's team, is just an ordinary girl, not driven forward by anything, as her mother is alive and fine, unlike in the game plot. Harold has also made other changes in history. Now that he is on this road, he can't haphazardly allow anything to go as it did in the game.

Of course the biggest change from the game is Harold himself. He was supposed to be a mid-boss, but now he's suddenly an ally on the hero's side.

Thank you for translating! I actually love flashbacks as it could show more depth to characters but this one seems confusing 🤔Sad story ofc but it does seem to contradict with main line before though I can't exactly pinpoint what is wrong. But yeah, the flashback doesn't make me "Oh, that is why he behaves/says that", it seems smth alien to the main story.
