I think you're being too harsh. Remember, he works in Japan, where you basically have no say if a higher up tells you to do something, and if he went public with it, not only would people likely not believe him if Mob Mentality has anything to say about it, but it would also get him fired, in an environment where a blemish like that could mean never working in the industry again. It's unfair to say "ah, he should have come out with it" when from the sounds of it, he didn't know until it was already swapped and coming out with it would have resulted in nothingEh, I'm usually fine with these kind of stories because the MC is usually at least a good-ish person, but from the little we can see bro ruined someones life, didn't do anything to rectify it ( Like going public about the article, people would have paid attention to him as he was at the very least the journalist in charge or someone who worked for the magazine ) and just continued with his own. Unless the author adds something else to his backstory he doesn't deserve a love interest at all, not even a yandere.
That said, I think he'll be getting his retribution, this doesn't seem like the kind of romance that he would want really. Like, I know we're desensitized, but don't say "even a yandere" like that's a net positive, that's objectively worse than having no partner at all, especially when it's very clear that this "love interest" is fully intent on ruining his life. That's like saying "he doesn't deserve to be sent death threats" like it's a positive thing.
