I like the character interactions. The MC is reasonably frightened but also needs her for his success as an editor. The FMC is now obsessed with him after his publisher used his interview with her to further malign her to the public.

I'm just worried that there are gonna be more girls, given the plural in the title. I'd rather the story focus on these two.

You clearly haven't seen news reports of small Japanese girls stabbing their boyfriends. The MC being scared is pretty reasonable.
