He dyed it blonde to pass as a much more publicly acceptable Summoner Class, then told everyone from Day 1 that he was a Tamer. It's never made any sense, not even the meta kind, like maybe it's like SSJ where they want to save time shading his hair, since this artist will just randomly go super detailed.

Reminder: tamers are considered trash where Valius is, and they have black hair. To justify his abilities, he dyed it blonde so he can pass off as a sage who learned taming (sages can learn everything IIRC). So it’s interesting that his hair’s got black tips, tho we don’t know if Valius intends it to go black, or he just hasn’t dyed it back yet.

Edit: Okay, so after some slight digging, in chapter 9 he mentions a meal at the guild being around 1000 zor. Assuming "zor" is just a different translation of "zol", this monster named after the ruler of the Lovecraftian Outer Gods is cheap as hell.
