While that certainly is a possibility, it is a little strange they don't even consider an alternative solution first. You'd think with them formerly being high school boys romancing a bunch of dudes would be their last resort, not the first.
It's only chapter 1 so I guess we'll see, though since the author writes Yaoi I wouldn't be surprised if they want to skip to the romancing parts.

Of course. I love genderbend romance but not if it's yuri or anything close to that. There's something very vulnerable/intimate about a guy refusing to but ultimately falling for another guy while being in a women's body and that feeling isn't there if it's yuri since there's no friction there.
