Interesting premise. Given what the grandfather said at the beginning his idea with fate is that he has lived countless lives and always failed to previously save him from being a villain. I'm betting even though he only kills "evil" there will be enough people in positions of power he still causes chaos and is thought to be a villain.

Is this another self fulfilling prophesy thing. He is said to destroy but would have live his life in peace if were not for constant conflict that erupted so to prevent that from occurring but instead it cause the fulfillment.
