Fallen from grace as they may be they still own an entire fucking planet, so I doubt covering up her trail of erectile dys-plosion victims would be too hard. Specially if they are also nobles. I think the problem is that Liam's gratitude drains his power. So he can't even cut his losses and just ignore him. He is trapped in that plane and constantly drained by Liam being happy. He needs to make him feel despair to stop the damage.

I hear you, but also, the Guide might be able to outpace the gratitude pain if he sucks the last moments of negativity from all the pirates Liam slaughters. That alone would juice him up massively.

Add to that any others suffering death from Liam and you have a massive negativity budget to use to at least try to cut ties with Liam, if not save up for a century to crush him.
