Ah, no dude. You shouldn't be paying people to translate for you, because that's just the same as profiting off of scanslation. You may not be profiting, but someone is, and that's all that matters in the eyes of the publishers. Though I will say that asking folks if they'd be so kind as to provide high-quality raws is just fine.
And if just uploading the releases takes this much effort, then you guys need to find other scanslation groups who'd be willing to take on some of your titles. Because a lot of these other groups get all antsy about sniping someone else unless they've gotten the go ahead - they really don't like the prospect of dealing with that kind of drama.
As for the ads... I'm not 100% certain, but I do believe that brand has been known to yank their services when they find out a site they run ads on is hosting content they don't have a license for distributing. After all, they did the same to the TV Tropes website just for covering squicky topics that literary tropes cover. (This was back when the site was under Fast Eddie's control - I happen to be acquainted with Bob Schroeck, who wrote nearly half the content that was on that site back then.)
And certain payment systems and crowdfunding sites will permaban accounts for the same. In fact, Setsu Scans recently just got all their crowdfunding accounts permabanned and are now having to resort to crypto currency to get their funding.
It's just plain better to focus on a few titles so you can deliver a fine translation on a regular basis. And to avoid money issues, because money is the metaphorical honey that attracts the metaphorical bears.
