I'm coping that the author is going to solve this somehow because the author did show the consequence of him going to the hospital (his fields gets abandoned) so finger crossed but I wouldn't be surprised if nothing got resolved

It's an apt comparison. New dude suddenly appears, dominates the story, and completely sidelines the MC. All MC's friends talk about how strong the new hero is, and nobody seems to care that he beat MC down so hard he needed to be hospitalized, not even his own wife. The dude clearly stated that he wants to take MC's wife away from him and raise his unborn child as his own. About the only thing he hasn't done is actually fuck Chris.

Granted, I don't think the story will actually go down that route despite how much of a siscon he is, but it's frustrating to know that there likely won't be any significant consequences for him. The worst is that aside from a few panels where she was pouty with her brother, Chris (and the story in general) barely even acknowledges what happened.

Personally I actually prefer science because it is governed by properly observable rules and laws. Science is amazing because anyone and everyone can learn how to use it to influence the world around them, whereas magic is often an unobservable and completely nonsensical power that only a chosen few can use.

We can all agree the FML brother is a piece a sht of a human being and brother In law for the mc.
Even now the mc has trauma because of near death beatdown by the FML brother. Even then the author doesn't want to deal the hassle of "LONG CHAPTERS OF CONSEQUENCES" cause the author or artist be like "Doesn't fit their vision".
I'm not licking the boot of an mangaka that one commenter said to me in the different manga. I'm thinking what the author or artist intention. While also acknowledge it was fking bonkers for most of the times

And it can also be free from the restricted rules of "No religion or nonsensical bs" and "follow only truth and logic". Yah sure science does have the answer for most of the time and still there are MANY unanswered questions

I suppose the marvels of modern technology served to humble them a bit, although this is effect is mostly on Louise, whose pride as a magical prodigy is getting hurt. Every chapter we see Kanji in a sling and a bandage over his nose is a reminder of the unchecked brutish violence done to him, and yet there are no signs the perp is getting a real punishment soon.

The closest thing we have to "punishment" is this siscon brute silently suffering feelings of BSS over his sister loving another man.
