@suisuigo
I think it’s just the progression of isekai manga. I’ve been reading isekai since like early 2000s and that was always the reaction. They come in, never believe anything, desperately try to find a way home even destroying themselves, despair about their family and friends, their future..
And it was like that for like 15 years lmao.
To the point where it was like “I’m tired of this despressing storyline” “always these same depressive acts like get over it” lol
Now isekai has changed (I fucking love it lol finally something happier) and it’s also a lot more common in stories and games where kids nowadays can be like “fuck yeah magic!” Also it might have something to do with Japan’s high suicide/self harm rate amongst the children? A lot of children are tired of their lives, and I love the mangas that actual display the stories of the children who didn’t want their lives back home.
But that was also getting depressing and boring so I’m glad they started these “you died back home so now you live here” I tend to look for those types of isekai now so no depressing “I lost everything” feeling lmao
Ahhh I went on a tangent.
But my first “isekai” type manga was “Red River” or “Anatolia Story” something like that. There’s a lot of that depressing stuff in there if ya want lol
