You are all right, in this situation, the MC and FMC should just kill every government official and run away. /s

Who is naive again, pl0x?

This manga just dropped the ball. I get it he's trying to be different and more realistic, but very few people would want that in their fluff manga.

MC is too shocked because she doesn't behave like a stereotypical Japanese girl

@Maala Nobody is advocating that they should try anything funny at this point even if you want to pass it off as that. He shouldn't have contacted the government in the first place and spilling the fact that he has a person that has superpowers which any government would be interested in. That's like saying "I have a super weapon that will give your country an edge over any other, come and get it" while at the same time expecting that your rights won't get trampled upon if the price is right. That's called naivety.

This is pretty fresh as far as isekai (or reverse isekai) goes, I don't get what everyone in this thread is bemoaning about. You have plenty of other series that does isekai fluff and it gets pretty boring reading that stuff after a while. Isekai crossing with Earth politics is pretty rare in this genre, It's refreshing to see something realistic like this happening, heck the government might treat the girl decently instead of something that would break multiple international human rights laws.

@civer: You are probably right. Considering what happened in the Gate manga when the U.S., Russia, and China tried to capture Rory and the others. That might happen soon in this manga.

@flanman The doujinshi are writing themselves as we speak.

@bladestorm91 It's not about the fluff, it's about the lack of brain of the MC. Also I am 90% sure nothing wrong will happen in terms of blatant human rights violation, because the author seems to be intent on pushing government propaganda regardless of whether he realizes it. There are limits to how gullible a person can be.

Talk this further? Dude, do you understand the word epidemic? Would you be willing to be held responsible if you're wrong and she does carry unknown diseases and viruses? Even if you do nothing, the birds, the wind and critters will carry these germs and viruses around. There is no stopping it if she has them. The earlier she gets examined, the better it will be.

@criver It's not a lack of brain, telling the government or not telling them are both valid and risky choices, it all comes down being selfish or not.

Telling the government about her is a more selfless act, it's about safety for her and the MC (and the world). No one knows if she's a pandemic waiting to happen or if she's in danger of dying from Earthen viruses, bacteria or whatever. While it's risky because there's no telling what the government will do, if it goes alright she has the government backing her and trying to help her return to her world because it's to their benefit (they gain a lot by studying her and her world if she succeeds).

Not telling the government is a more self-beneficial choice, you get your standard reverse-isekai series with fluff and waifu (if she isn't a walking hazard). Great for the guy, not so much for the girl if she wants any hope of returning to her world.

@Memerk ET isn't remotely realistic, the government wouldn't want to antagonize aliens whom they don't know if they could retaliate for any actions we take or not.

I liked this chapter (except the part that they started at the door and ended at the door) and I like that the manga is delving into more serious territory.

ppl complaining about "good government propaganda" forgot that even if it's true that the author did that, there are many people who really think that everything the government do is for their people's sake and no other motive behind that
people are naive, especially the one who spends their life NOT in the city

Honestly I have to give props for the way the author handled this. It would have been easy to go all "Evil government has come to quarantine you immediately! We'll take you by force if you don't comply right now!" and then have him being held back by guys while calling to her as they take her away, like most series do, but they were actually cool with waiting for her to explain the situation and answer questions they had.
Making it his ex coming to pick them up instead of some Evil Government Official showing up and going "We've already quarantined your friend, you'll be coming with us now" is probably what saved it.

@bladestorm91 I'd have to disagree. One of the two choices is stupid and only shows how unrealistically gullible the MC is. No matter in which country you live, there are (recent enough) precedents of the government trampling over human rights for stuff a lot less significant than something amazing such as magic. Human history has shown time and time again that governments do in fact stand by the idea that the goal justifies the means when it matters most.
It's not risky because "there's no telling what the government will do", everybody that lives in the real world and not in their own imaginary wonderland knows very well what the government will do, human rights have been trampled upon over stuff that was a lot more trivial. It's not a matter of whether the government will do it, it's about when they would do it. If you can't accept this, then it simply means you're in denial. People have gone over this, there's more than enough (official, not conspiracy theories) historical and psychological evidence to substantiate this point.
You are also trying to argue how it is beneficial for the MC not to spill unnecessary info, but it's not so for the knight. However you fail to realize that it's her that he's sending off as a guinea pig due to his inability to keep his mouth shut, so it's actually the other way around. She's the one that will lose the most from this if this would have had a realistic development. But just off the writing till this point I can predict that the author will keep up with the govt propaganda, so she won't become a guinea pig just due to poor writing.

@criver Yea, as if expecting one can live in secrecy / with faked papers for her entire life is not naivety. (It is.)

It's an impossible situation that will never happen in real life. Move on instead of your usual useless flamings.

Oh wait, I know a solution, he should have killed her in chapter one, and burn her body. That would solve the whole problem!
