I wished that more authors would make their protagonists more mature, from a relationship point of view. Specifically, I wished they would stop having so many lead male characters who are so nervous or afraid about getting married or getting committed.
Yes, I get that getting married is a serious matter, not to be just thrown around. I also understand that protagonists are to some extent the reflection of the targeted audience. But, it's tiresome sometimes.
This is just my opinion, but I think it's really baller to - when thrown a curveball like "You've gotten yourself a wonderful wife" - reply with something like "Yes, I just need her to agree on the wedding date." I'm no silver-tongued mangaka, but, c'mon! Once in a while give us a lead that'll show us how it's done. Just own it, ya know.
