@architeus
at least have the decency to @ them lmao
@Floriano
Covid came from a lab in Wuhan, the government should already know this. If Honami was being sincere she would know Chris-chan's home country is not in China, it doesn't even exist in their universe technically. Again, the virus only just broke out recently while this manga has been running for 2 years. It doesn't make sense. Also Honami and Saeki must get tested since they have been in contact with them. I'm typing this lazily because I expect you to understand that implying that Chris chan has covid doesn't make sense. She only stays in the country house or the government, rarely goes out to the city.
This government visit cannot be for covid since she hasn't been around strangers.

sometimes the way this manga is translated makes my brain explode!
My problems are:
1. Are the girls a thing or just miss read that
2. Ties in with the first, who is she marrying?
3. Why tf another gov arc!

Ok, this chapter was just confusing. But other other plots aside, here is my possible theory for the ending:

Going back on my previous theory about the ex hooking back up with MC,
I feel that's still on the table as the flashbacks were vague enough to show that it wasn't a bad experience for her to turn him down if he did ask her again to be in a relationship.
But now I see 2 possible outcomes:

1) He ends up back with ex, after learning to take care of another person (Chris-chan/Knight girl)
or
2) Ex makes a move just as Chris-chan is heading back to her realm, but MC decides that its best to move on and stay with Chris-chan.

I feel it's favouring the 1st outcome because for the 2nd outcome, MC needs to decide to leave Japan with Chris-chan or Chris-chan needs to decide to leave her realm. Both of whom have not expressed any desire to do so. (Chris-chan maybe, but I don't think she has the option to escape back atm so staying in Japan is not a choice)
Probably down the line in this manga, both of them will be given an option to do so, but for me I feel it is a better writing standpoint to choose the ex over Chris-chan, not just because it tempers the "expectation", but realistically speaking, if you really love someone you wouldn't tie them down to your own circumstances (ex. Making Chris-chan live in Japan, when she has a family and duties elsewhere).

Letting each other go (MC + Chris-chan) seems like the best form of growth for the two of them. In terms of "living circumstances", I consider this like a transitional relationship, where two people who have traumas or lack of experiences get together for a sort of puppy-love phase, but when the two of them grow out of that, the choice is either stay with each other or move on and grow further. Ofc you'd want them to stay together, but if they do, maturity will not be possible because then they would be running away from their own responsibilities if they do (Chris-chan from her duties as a knight/princess & MC keeping her from doing so) in order to live this "fantasy" lifestyle they have created.

Whether or not this may be the outcome you want, for me this is the outcome which has the most potential for growth and has the best "message" which someone can take from in terms of their own relationships.

TLDR; MC will probably end with ex, because staying with Chris-chan will hinder their individual growth, because they're running from their own responsibilities by staying together.

@ribbitribbitsaga The other guy clearly meant that just like a new virus like Covid-19 brought the entire world to its knees, Chris having a new virus could've done the same, that's why keeping her in lockdown was necessary. Of course she didn't bring covid-19 to reality, she's a fictional character.

You know you're knee deep in filler when, at a point in a conversation where someone might potentially resolve anything, random slapstick violence changes the subject and the scene ends.

@gregger .i would agree. Part of me feels because, I always choose the old connection over the female lead. But mostly becuase it promotes some growth of maturity between the leads, and how the hardest steps of letting go, will make them stronger.

@ptoo Arranged marriage interviews are still fairly common in Japan, and since we don't really have a cultural equivalent, I dunno how you expect the translation to be any clearer. And no, the girls are not a thing, it wasn't even sligntly implied.

I think Floriano used covid-19 as an example. It doesn't have to be covid-19, it could be some other virus that could've been brought with her from the other world. Also, regardless of whether or not covid-19 was fabricated in a lab, not all viruses stem from chinese labs.

Her just staying in the countryside is also no reason not to worry. She interacts with MC (what's-his-face) daily, who then interacts with other people. Viruses can spread very easily exactly because people don't live in isolation. They've shown before that the government had to isolate everyone MC and co. got in touch with, just to be safe.

If she carries some bacteria/viruses from an entirely different ecosystem, and that then carries over to people that don't have antibodies that can deal with this hazard, results could be devastating. Just take a look at all the diseases pilgrims took with them to the New World. Relatively harmless to the pilgrims themselves, deadly to the native americans.

@Huichelaar if anything she would be more susceptible to diseases in our world rather than bringing something from her world. I think its more of the government treating her as a science experiment subject. I think the government is treating her very poorly and if she needed so many needles they'd giver her one of those ports that sits in the vein or artery and you need only poke the expendable bit to inject anything and if they needed lots of blood that is a single needle as well. The bruises are annoying from those things, but its better than a bunch of holes.

Can some explain why Honami thinks Kanji is a
due to the cat meow'ing ?
Being hungry seem like a plausible cause, but it does look more upset and should that be case then it could due to being away from Chris, which still begs the above question.

Looking back at this duscussion from years ago, I'm glad I'm not the only one confused by Kanji and Honami's relationship at this point in the story. Things just aren't adding up to me.
