It's obvious the guy doesn't want the kind of leadership where he might be questioned. He may have his own views on why Musashi was doing what he was doing, making him angry, but at the same time the fact he's going this far seems to imply he wants to ensure his orders will be followed no matter what. A case of lead by strength. Unfortunately I doubt that kind of leadership here will be maintained for too long since he's got some of the people under him against him, with others too scared to act against him (which means they probably won't act in his favour either).
