What a weirdly heavy detail to make up for a single, smooth one-liner interaction between our main couple in a yuri fluff manga. I guess the author got the idea for "lost mail" at some point and decided to dedicate a chapter to it, and the only realistic set up was the mother being a horrible, bitter person who could have very much ruined her child's relationship with her best friend. Not even "could have" actually, she did. Before they met back up in high school, the catalyst for the falling out of their relationship was absolutely her mother continually snipping the lines of communication between the two. That's fucked, even more so to hide that fact from your daughter all these years. I guess she's not going to be relevant to the story much so it doesn't matter.

I suppose this explain last chapter where Haruno didnt know why they drifted apart before. Still, Koyuki didnt sent any letters so might not be it. Either way, was used for a pretty nice moment at the end but was still pretty awful.
But yet, it seems regardless of what they say or do, even tho they are mostly a couple, the author will prevent any real progress being made for now.

Rereading this, came across this chapter, wtf has this psycho mom done. In a way I'm glad it's just one chapter so she can be writ off as inexistent, on the other hand, it's kinda making light of what she's done to Haru and Koyuki... I should stop, engaging with the bitch isn't worth my mental joy from consuming this manga. Say it with me people, it's all fiction, I take as much joy and grief from this as I allow it to.
