Okay so I love how wholesome the story has been, leading up to the deviant behavior. Yes, the concept of sexual violence is incredibly hard to juggle and my fingers are crossed for a silver lining.
In a honesty, there's a lot of angled lenses to view this through. This does show a brutal cosmic-level retribution, not for the initial behaviors for that first decade but for the borderline-psycopathic lengths she goes to in a quest to essentially re-ruin his life. Her desperate circumstances in the camp event being what leads to such a ground-shattering revelation of her actions and behaviors feels so raw and human. My biggest hope is that these series of events are not simply used as a stepping stone to now feel bad for the character, or make a statement that "this messed up thing happened to her therefore she's redeemed." I can guess Fumi has been sneaking away to take care of Hanabi, and that's the route that this is hopefully taking. I would hate to see this be a hardly touched-on aftermath, as something like this can take years to recover from mentally.
I will say that it IS working as of now. Maybe it's just my but my heart hurts knowing these events are happening to Nanabi, as bad as she's been. And not just the SV, here self-reflection and self-penance in the form of isolation is just something that hit so close to home for me.
Please keep up the good work.
