On the topic, the tonal whiplash to go from cutesy blushing rom-com to g.-r. in public bathroom to cutesy blushing rom-com is quite jarring. That the author went so dark, so fast, but then went immediately went back is baffling.


And it really makes the girl look horrendous. You can't go from asking someone to go to the hospital to wondering if your mistaken. Add on top of that that we see that she's most concerned with typical rom-com things doesn't make her "naïve" or even "stupid". It's astounding and, based on what I've heard, is the same thing that happened to Gal Cleaning.


On a side-note, anyone have recommendations on similar things to this and Gal Cleaning's tonal nosedives?

yea i find weird that there are some who don't consider verbal abuse/blackmail as violence. Its entirely possible that there was no rough housing (even though its very much implied), but since its clear blackmail, it very much warrants the sexual violence tag. Abuse comes in various forms, it doesn't have to be just physical

In the light novel the author described it in unholy graphic detail...like I can not express how much he describes it. Ive been desensitized to so much but jesus christ I had to take a week away from the novel before I could continue. So yes they gang raped her and thats how she lost her virginity. It’s a very odd choice for sure. It… it’s not a story I’d want to read for entertainment at this point. The author has brought in something that’s too far removed from just “a minor plot point”.

I always get uncomfortable when you have these authors who setup an awful person, and then have weirdly harsh and cruel punishments for said characters. Like… you can deal with a person’s evil actions without forcing them to be on the receiving end of something worse… yeah Hanabi was awful, but not like this…

I wanted to find more details about the entirety of the plot. The best I was able to find were the chapter titles and bits-and-pieces type of spoilers. I do have a projection but it's just conjecture. Hence why I was asking.
