She fell for him when they were younger and realized he would be VERY popular, so she did everything in her power to crush any aspect of his person that could generate any popularity(his looks, his athleticism, his personality, by telling him to adjust them to be incredibly awkward or grinding them all down to dust so he'd only have her. He could solve 100% of his problems if he just released all her abusive texts, or if he deleted them which it didn't say he did, record literally ANY of their conversations of her being a psychotic bitch. That's if, and only if, the manga is based on the web novel version. There's a light novel, so I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that the manga is based on that.

It's actually that the perceived underdog is the victim, and the perceived overdog (?) is the villain. And his ex is deliberately cultivating and using it.

(I'll forego my rants about this particular awful absurdity behind and leave a reminder that this is involved in a lot of modern antisemitism — the bizarro myth that Jews supposedly control the world or economy has been used to fuel pogroms and anti-Zionism. And to deem all Jews "privileged," despite more than 3,000 years of persecution topped off by their being the primary targets of the Holocaust, meanwhile said "privileged status" is itself used to make antisemitism more socially "acceptable." You see how insidious this technique is?!)
