Yes, I have literally complained about exactly that in other series. The nice guy stories were every guy is a jerk except for the protagonist.

I'm honestly starting to think this "all the dudes/chicks in this story are assholes" thing is just cliche that we don't get because of cultural differences. It feels super lazy. Something along the lines of: I don't want to spend energy writing any guy/girl aside from the main one so I'll just make the rest unlikeable twats that can be easily forgotten/discarded.
At least when everyone is an asshole, we can easily be attributed to edgelord misanthropy, which can occasionally be fun when it doesn't take itself seriously or when it takes itself TOO seriously.

I take it you're unaware of the current situation surrounding this site then? It's a distinct possibility that man many more series will not be allowed to be posted here. This isn't through choice, we preferred using this platform... but our hand is being forced.
That being said, I know that at least one of the other sites is scrambling to improve their service so hopefully it meets your standards before all the series you read are gone.

Maybe I am misunderstanding something, because I know a bunch had to be removed, but new chapters for a number of those series that I am following, they uploaded new chapters just fine. It was just that old chapters were no longer viewable. Are you saying there are some series where you're physically not allowed to upload any new chapters?

The DMCA takedowns were quite specific as far as I'm aware. So, for one of our series, Shikisaki Sisters, it encompassed chapters 1 to 31. However, in the time it took the notice to reach MangaDex and for them to action, we had already posted another 4 chapters, so they're still up and readable. They will, without a doubt, be in the next round of takedowns though. I was also advised this by an MD mod, that future chapters will just be nuked the same way so there's no point in posting them.... "Here" at least, anyway.
