Hmm...gladiator dude got off pretty like if you ask me. Time will tell if he'll change his ways or not.

Assuming that this has an LN version, does the old party ever show up again in the story?

What was the point of all the deception? Just to make cock's comb look stupid?

Honestly its insane how eaily he got off for premeditated murder that normally would have succeeded. He should be barred for ever from being an adventurer in the least as till the end he was unrepentant.

It feels like retcon to be honest, people in Japan prolly hated how it was going so author pulled a behind the scenes 4d chess move out of thier ass to legitimise the flow of events.

Serioulsy this arc was too long and dumb. The 2 girls should have left ages ago and not taken part in said competition and Issac should have been much worse criminally punished. The absolute worst though is MC is so powerful even without Fenrir but apparently was deadweight in combat? I call BS in so many ways. This is your stock black company type wish fulfillment that doesn't think about what they wrote.

They usually at least give you the fig leaf where the low self-esteem MC has been bullied by his teammates into never fighting so he doesn't know that he's OP until he gets kicked out. Or they go the route where the MC really was weak but taming the monsters gives them OP stats and skills.

This series just kind of forgot to even do that much, so it ends up feeling a lot more empty than such stories usually do.

I feel like all this could've been avoided if Isaac didn't have that classic douchebag / Random Bandit C hairstyle.

Doomed his personality right from the jump.

Shannon was told to go collect materials before, and the lie about buying stuff was obvious, so it's not as if it wasn't foreshadowed at all. However, it was all pointless. It added absolutely nothing but an "and then everyone clapped" ending to it.

Yeah. If they didn't even want to go on the quest, they should've rejected it. That would've shown far more repentance than what they did. And honestly, it makes it feels like the author sold them short, which is amazing in itself since it's a rather low bar to fail to clear.

Isaac should've just died or something. The only good thing is that they did show that he was at least somewhat competent by dealing with those wyverns, but that's not exactly on the moral spectrum.

The absolute worst though is MC is so powerful even without Fenrir but apparently was deadweight in combat? I call BS in so many ways.
He was even shown to hold his own before that. He clearly carried his own weight, and theirs. And that's without that BS blessing the author slapped onto him to make him even more snowflake special.

I like that the cheating party ended up buying the items from the MC. At the very least he'll get 10% of the cut. It's like they paid him for the privilege of losing to him.

Yeah Just going to pretend the series ends here. 2 or 3 out of 10. Monster friends the only part of this worth anything at all. :haa:

I forgot how freaking unsatisfying the closure to this was and that he even blamed himself for everything that happened.

Those punishments were essentially a slap on the wrists. So stupid.

It could be argued the premeditated murder part was more on the hero since they decided on that together (likely a suggestion by the "hero").

This would be highlighed by how he didn't like that the hero tried sacrificing another of his teammates.

This of course, it purely on the technical point, itt's obvious based on his behaviour that if given the right circumstances and means (as well as influence), he prob would've done something similar again. So yea, dunno why he got off witth less than a year of labour (I guess he's technically somewhat skilled, so they stll want him around for that?)
