I really love how the manga is holding up. I had already seen the author's tweet about manga up, and I have no problems with supporting it, but I guess I'll miss this one here too

Man I am so lost as to what is happening.

Is she dead?

Or is it some Silent Hill esque thing of her emotions, feeling and fears manifesting on the real world?
1. Karin and Yuu's wished to meet eachother got granted at the same time.

2. Meanwhile Yuu wished every single day for it, Karin wished for Yuu to choose one personality of hers, this would turn the chosen personality into the real Karin, as the other ones would disappear forever.

3. The splittered parts are every personality of Karin, "the voices in her head", and the Karin shown here is the one she wants to be since "it was easier back then", and also the Karin Yuu knew.

4. Karin's paper thingy wants to grant this wish no matter what, it doesnt care if its unfair for Karin to not accept every part of her, so now its the villain here.

5. As we know, nobody is perfect and is prone to have some bad sides, but Karin wants to be the perfect Karin to Yuu.

This is what I understood, would be great if anyone could correct me if I said anything stupid tho

she's not dead.

When Karin moved away from Yuu and into middle school, she lost her sense of self as she grew up, for reasons that can happen to anyone.

But I suspect Yuu was her grounding force, and she yearned for the simpler times of childhood that she had, alongside him, and wished for things to go back to that point when she could just be a carefree child without worries or responsibilities, alongside Yuu.

And the crux of the issue is she wanted that return to simplicity and to forget all her worries and anxieties and all the "voices that contradict one another" that are born from that - and the Charm granted her wish after taking her literally.

Hence her splitting.
And so yuu met all of Karin's various "sides", and was supposed to pick the one version of Karin that she would fully manifest as, so she could go back to being untroubled and could just be with Yuu again and be happy.

But Yuu, loves all of Karin, and couldn't pick "just one part of her". Because that's who he loves. And so his wish of seeing her again conflicted with her wish of wanting things simplified at Yuu's hand, and the manga up to this point is the result.

But when that didn't work out, and Yuu accepted all of Karin, all her memories came back, she remembered all the pain she'd been in, and the total Karin scope collapsed, resetting back to what would "grant" her wish most literally - reverting her to her child self from a decade before.

And with that, all the aspects of Karin that were split off and manifested are consigned to be destroyed and erased, so that Karin's wish can come true. And Yuu now has to keep that from happening, so that he doesn't lose the Karin he loves, which is the whole of the sum of all the Karins we've met.

Or at least that's my take on it.
In other words, we're in this mess because Karin's charm is an incompetent bureaucrat that can't be bothered to try to reconcile everything, and instead took the simplest route with the excuse of, "It's not my fault, I'm just following the rules exactly as they're written."

it does seem like the Charm took Karin's wish explicitly literally, yes.

Not malicious, just....unbothered, because as far as the Charm's concerned, granting Karin's wish was the important bit, and that's been done, so.

And that "literal interpretation" concept is a pretty well-explored trope with all wish-granting entities in all sorts of literature, even.

I checked out the official translation and… it’s not bad, actually. They retain the Karins’ nicknames, they do have good typesetting, and the only hiccup is that they typeset the charm most of the time so it’s hard to tell its expressions.

Anyway, according to the author this whole setup was planned, so I dunno what’s happening next. Buy the official releases so this doesn’t end, people.

It's pretty shitty to make Yuu pick her personality for her, it sounds so weird, imagine if you heard a guy used psychological indoctrination to give his girlfriend his ideal personality, people would be calling the police. I know she didn't do it intentionally but that charm really needs to understand how people work. Either way it seems like either Himeka or Kumaka were the closest personalities to her before she made that wish.

Oh man, I am sad you guys are dropping it, but totally understandable. I read the official translation and while it is not completely the same it is serviceable. I am just glad that if it continues after this and you guys drop it we will still get translations.

As for this ending, I feel like this is one of those things where this part can't continue on. Maybe after all the parts of Karin get back to one we will see that while she may not accept herself completely she will start to with Yuu...and that will be the theme/arc for a long time. That Yuu brings out the best in Karin and she starts to love every aspect of herself while being with him. Heck, it would be hilarious if that is the path this takes and then somehow the charm being a stupid charm breaks a part of Karin's personalities off and it causes havoc.

Understandable that you’re dropping it but what a pain that it’s only available on manga up. Absolutely scam app

Honestly, Manga Up is infinitely better than K-Manga will ever be. At least Manga Up has a subscription so you can get back chapters of series and if you want the latest ones then you have to pay with coins. Where K-Manga is ALL coins and nothing else which is the bigger issue. I like subscriptions where it is all you can eat like Shonen Jump, Manga Plus, and Viz.

Fuck. At least its not comikey.
That's two good manga lost to the scamapp this week.
First "Teacher we will destroy the world" and now this.

Completely respect the decision, disappointing though it is. And greatly appreciate you continuing to the end of the volume.

Agreed.

It sure seems like this series will be over within a couple of chapters.
Yeah this one seems to be rocketing to conclusion. I don't know how they'd get another volume out of it.

I'm guessing that Yuu's final goal will be to get Karin to love and accept every part if herself.

Always a bittersweet moment to have to drop something, I really liked this one too since it feels like it was made for me and Alpha's style. Anyway, got a few more to go so no goodbyes yet. I guess we'll see if the series outlives us.
Yeah good for people in the square Enix market area (I'm not) so a shame for me

You know for a moment I was expecting the twist that Karin died but seems it was her who feel insecure and just wishes to see Yuu again

To be fair, your crush reverting to her pre-teen form is an easily foreseeable consequence of choosing to date all of her splinters simultaneously. No sympathy from me.
