Having binged on this in the morning, there are some things that I think are interesting. The white cat is a blessing rather than a curse, had Maki not being affected by the cat's influence, she would have never talked to Ichika again. It seems to me that on the fated day, where they were supposed to meet at the park, Maki was going to confess her feelings for Ichika. Since Ichika didn't show up, Maki took that as a betrayal of their friendship and her feelings.
The white cat is there to help them make up and get together once again. The cat is a catalyst to their own destiny, as they were always meant to be together. That is why they ended on the same class and the same committee.
Also, damn Ichika has major topage energy, she has the traits of a hentai protagonist example "cover your mouth so I can touch you" "just the tip" "you were hoping that I touch you" while Maki is like, "I will let you and pretend not to like it to save face" major bottom vibes.
I guess something major will happen next chapter as that shrine maiden at the end is expecting visitors.
