I thought I'd hate this based on the premise. I was wrong.
Whilst it's obviously fantastical, it somehow does impart some degree of pathos. For light reading, it leaves more of an impression that it should.
Sure, it's not something I'd circle back to read again. It's too replete with tropes and the characters are limited, albeit necessarily due to the core conceit. That said, I didn't have a bad time reading it. For filler manga, it was pretty decent. Not everything needs to be Oshi No Ko or Inside Mari, in terms of intensity or gravitas.
