It does smell of final arc territory, don't it? Cuteness aside, there's not a lot keeping this series afloat (which just to be clear, stuffed munchkins are totally enough in my humble opinion) as we haven't seen much character development in the MCs. Even now that we know the reason for the deadline, it's more of a shrug than a dramatic development.

Still, we're looking at 30-ish chapters which isn't bad for a MP manga. I'm guessing it will wrap up with a timeskip epilogue like Kubo.

Yeah. Drama is what this story needs the most. Sure. Where is my next Horimiya? No drama, no dumb comedy, just normal romance of relatively normal people.
