I didn't tell you guys, but Makita started faceless in the web version. Actually, we never even saw him for a while because this was one of those first-person-view mangas originally. Also, just gonna reveal a future detail here since I don't think I'll be getting to it before V2 comes out:

Oh so not only are they childhood friends, but they also shared their first kiss together? I wonder if that's still canon in the serialized version. Makes you wonder why she's the only one with unrequited feelings

Might be better to wait for the volume translations, after seeing the faceless Makita. As far as I'm concerned, that facelessness only belongs to H-manga. It's so off-putting in proper manga. I have read a few series where it was a thing, though oft suddenly changed in the middle of the manga. I complained about it every time. Just like now.
