Aqua is not a character people are invested in on his own merits. Goro was great in the first arc, but Aqua is only interesting for his relationships with the harem. There was very little effective romance (or platonic relationship) build-up over the last 30 chapters for them X Aqua and therefore no sense of vicarious loss that the reader is feeling from Kana/Akane/Ruby.

If you are in the position of Kana or Akane, it's like a big, Oh well, sorta sad I guess ending. And now there is one chapter for Ruby with there having been no development since the wincest potential exited the building.

Kana slapping Aqua's corpse was-eugh...Aqua would definitely have deserved it before, but doing it now at the funeral was just disrespecrful.

Kana really got it worse than Maki, and got a worse sendoff...Man.

Poor Miyako and Ruby, they're all devastated by this...it's a miracle that the latter haven't ended it all yet since Gorou/Aqua was the one that kept her going through both lives.

I feel a bit mad at that last panel though, are you telling me that she'll just recieve character development over one chapter and magically be able to keep going after his death, despite us repeatedly being shown that couldn't be possible, with no hints to the contrary?

Like when she found Gorou's corpse, spiraled, and was only brought back from the brink when Aqua revealed his true identity? Have we all forgotten about that?

She would either end it all or quit showbiz permanently after this, there is no way on god's green Earth that she'd be able to bounce back from this in just a week or month, the poor girl has been through too much trauma for that.

Aka really can't do a decent ending it seems, always rushing things...
Man I am so sad, depressed, and mad right now...4 years spent emotionally investing myself, and this is what I got.


I'd rather have read an IshiMiko spinoff manga from Kaguya-sama than this.
