Honestly my biggest gripe is that Ruby and others went from despair to having hope again in span of two chapters, and it was depicted wordless with just pictures. Its not particularly satisfying and usually Oshi no Ko will have introspective dialogue of how modern society works. The last chapters missing all that so it just feels rushed.

Also in the end the crow girl are just plot device for the reincarnation stuff and there's no explanation about them. Though someone here mentioned special chapter so if its true maybe it'll be there it gets revealed.

Lying doesn't make you a bad person though, it just makes you a liar. Ai was a liar and people hated her for it, but she was a good person motivated solely to make the world a better place for others and for her children. Ai also didn't understand how other people truly feel, and ended up being ignorant and naive in the world. Ruby has suffered more trauma and loss than Ai, and as such both utilizes her mother's ability to lie and also has real-world knowledge. She doesn't just follow in her family's footsteps, she takes them in stride
i'm not saying that lying make someone a bad person, never did, my issue is that the only thing we got from this chapter is "everyone moved on" and that Ruby ended up being like her mother, despite all that long as monologue how everyone changed and how character focused this series is that almost all the important character got their own pov in this series, this just isn't the way to end the series

and no, i don't dislike this series have sad ending, i don't mind at all, i just hate ending without proper closure

also, just saying that aka went an extra mile for every character in kaguya-sama ending but somehow he can't do it with oshi no ko that have less key characters

it's a semi-decent ending I guess? but it really suffers from not having enough pages to finish or expand on the idea, 28 pages for a finale is just wrong, could've used some extra ones to idk show more of how ruby and girls bounced back from the grief and sadness, more on the journey of b-komachi to the dome, otherwise it looks like a "oh he died, anyway" moment, another "it's not bad but could've been much better" ending to the recent pile of finished manga

Is this some meta commentary on making manga? Dude pre announced his next work as well?

I don't even have emotions, this feels like a cancelled ending and I'm pretty sure this ended on Aka's terms. Ah well.
It feels like a bad or very controversial route in a visual novel, after which you have to go to the true route where everyone is happy. BUT IT'S NOT ASSUMED, CARL! This is literally one of the loops in Higurashi and ReZero, when the MC realizes that he can do better and resets the end again.

I kind of get your point, and I would say I liked the ending rather than hated it (still went from an 8 to a 7), but in the long run it feels weird as Aqua clearly knew what Ai represented was good but not healthy at all, and Ruby ended like her mom, while sacrificing himself for her so it feels like a nothing burger, like we got back to status quo, but on the other side as you said it ties back to the theme and choose to be darker.
I mean at the end of day Sarina/Ruby finally achieved her dream of being star idol like Ai. On the grim reality side its Aqua's death causing more sensation to Ruby to boost her career, and on the light dreamful side its Ruby's perseverance to keep going on despite the tragedy that inspires people to love and admire her. And she did by copying her mom ability to tell lies to herself.

All in all its her basically succeeding where Ai fails at.

As much as people call this a bad ending, it is a suitable ending and one that suits the theme of living the life of a "liar." Having a good ending where aqua lives and everyone gets their good ending just will not suit the dark tones that the series has portrayed across the course of the story. So having things go full circle with ruby doing what her mum did before (living the life of a liar) is the best suited ending. Still though, it would be better to at least have more chapters before this. :/

yeah, when Aqua tells Ruby he is Goro, it would feel like nothing at all, while the readers were all joking about Alabama alarm hahaha.

and one of the worlds that crow girl shown to Aqua was one of the good ones hahaha or we get another one for the final volume.
I'm especially angry and can't believe this, because even if the chapter with the fake ending seemed too soft to be true (though I wouldn't be surprised if Aka was forced to continue it), we spent literally half a volume convinced that Aqua should cherish his life and his new one personality, and what, IMPORTANTLY, he potentially accepted.

this.
I think the ending works, it's just the execution that doesn't quite work.

The problem is that throughout the manga we were told that this should be avoided and that it was bad. Now it turns into a central theme with characters who simply didn't get deliverance and are suffering again. Why does something that should inspire and motivate me only make me even more depressed?! Even AoT handled this better by talking about the theme of the cycle of revenge and violence, which already says a lot.

How retarded do you have to be to think that a career is more important than your families life? How stupid can a person be to think that anyone is genuinely made better by this shit?

How can anyone actually think that idol trash is the most important thing to a person.

I mean, who actually gives a shit about celebrities? There is a new one every other week, nobody is truly touched by something like that. It's just like going to a movie, people will care in social media for a week and then jump to the next thing.

I genuinely don't understant this kind of twisted priorities and how the author thinks this shit is reasonable.

I don't think it's a bad ending, just a deeply upsetting one, and so people can't process it properly. I would have liked to spend some more time with Ruby to know what's going on with her more, I mean she did choose life so there is that, but then again maybe I don't want to know.

I really liked this ending. Despite all the pain and heartache that ruby will never truly get over she still pushed through, still completed her dream, and kept going after. It’s kinda inspiring.
so only only the ending as a whole shits on everything the story tries so hard to portray!!! but this ONE bloody chapter!!! COMPLEATLY makes Ruby to be MIRROR copy of her FICKING MOTHER!!! HOW IS that INSPIERING???

what the fuck was the whole point of the god damn story? ahd the PROGRESS??? way the fuck did we see them BOTH get better and ALMOST overcome this all??? WAY ? fuck off Aka!!! your ending is garbage
