Same mangaka doesn't mean same world... many of the companies and weirdness don't actually match up...

And the actual WAY characters talk and interact just don't match up either.

Besides, authors can have cross overs with their own works without it being canon (that used to be the norm even).

Of course, Kaguya marrying the pres and becoming a photographer is probably canon.... but we knew that'd happen anyways...

Yeah. This is the most explicit chapter, but this was first hinted at with sweet today, which was the manga that made everyone in the Schuchin StuCo cry (and also made them fall into stupid love delusions the next day). More recently there also is the acquired backing for the movie from the Shinomiya corporation. Of course, both series are so tonally different one would've never guessed at first glance

More like the opposite. The tonal shift between the stories is so extreme that people are flipping out in the comments. Which I suppose does adhere to "hit hard" - but it is kinda in a bad way.
