Whew. Marika being jealous this time isn't really about Oota being close to Sawa anymore, but more about her being envious that she can't be romcom-ing in class with her own boyfriend like these two have the chance to do (but we don't actually see much of it, why???)
Then we see the alleged side couple actually romcom-ing after class, because... well I guess they're the real main couple now by any metric. Complete with close-up handholding? It's absolutely shameless by romcom standards, and I love it. All the little romantic gestures between this two are slaying it in the "is this romance credible" department.
So even if the R18 side stories are called "unofficial" due to not actually being officially published in the publication this comes in, page 16 is pretty much solid confirmation that the events in the author's doujins are absolutely canon. But yeah, while I'm eating good with all the romance and PDA between Shouma and Marika, I do want to see more time for poor Masaki and Sawa, they've been on the backburner for so long nobody believes they're the "main" couple anymore.

Honestly the side couple is not romcom. Look at how many stories exist and then look at how few have a confession before the last two chapters of the story. Meanwhile the side couple passed that stage a while ago. This is teo separate stories, one with the standard slop that authors pass through as "romance" while the other is what romance should actually be like.
