I suspect his is a ploy by him to get her to open her eyes.

She has some deep insecurities and needs to get over them AND learn to listen to other people when they talk. Her not listening definitely has happened before (I can't remember when) so of course he would take a drastic step to get her to listen. Even if he was being "sincere" in having them break up right now I can see it remaining a thing for just a few more chapters.

Also, when can we get back to our main couple who refuse to make any progress? I get that we need to have the girl best friend have an arc so she can accept that MC being with her best friend/ girl needing to get over her insecurities to be a better person and friend. I also get that we have these 2 side characters who are friends to the main characters who apparently have a lot more layers than normal side characters, but I signed up for a fluffy romance and I have not seen that for awhile.

This is one that has truly become trash in my opinion. It seems like the author hates the main couple and only likes the side couple (why they wrote the side story) and just makes it start as SA then forces the girl to like him to make it pure then turns off their personality for drama.

??

cause he never took the relationship seriously because of some weird-ass perceived "kindness" on his part instead of just fucking talking to her and confirming her feelings if he was in doubt?? he fucking knows how outspoken she is. if she thought something's wrong, she would've TOLD HIM. they went out for weeks or even months and he still thought he's a fallback. like what the actual fuck!!

ppl don't go crying about shit forever! she was about to do some dumb shit immediately after she learned she's got no chance with sawa. and he prevented that. but she won't do that weeks and months after they started their relationship. any functioning human being recovers and moves on. and it's not that hard to pick up on things and realize that she stayed with him cause she wanted to. she even said she initiated everything whenever they got intimate. like he should've gotten a fucking clue. this is so sad, it's almost funny.

and he's not even trying to salvage this shitshow he's created. it wouldn't have been THAT hard to immediately follow up with saying he was insensitive and oblivious of how she felt and wants to do better if she gave him another chance since he seriously likes her. BUT NO, he stops then and there just saying he has no clue, which obviously upsets her and she starts questioning what the point of their relationship was if he was still stuck at the starting point weeks or months ago.
Honestly, I feel as though you're forgetting a lot of what has been depicted. When he confessed she rejected him, then when asking about the confession she says that
you should wipe that nice image you have of me from your mind, so you can move on and find someone else nice instead
Then once she's learned how he feels about her tries taking advantage of how he feels for her to get him to do things on her behalf and when it doesn't work all she says is how she wasted her time flirting, takes advantage of his goodwill some more by having Oota namedrop her when asking to borrow something (He mentions how he wouldn't normally have given it to him).

Throughout their fake relationship she's made him out to not be a priority for her. Telling him to dump her if he finds a new girl he likes, ignoring texts, when Christmas was coming around she thought that making plans sounds like a pain and that they should break up, Valentines rolls around and she says that making chocolates sounds like a pain and also that
I'm going out with Hachiouji-sand and I don't even particularly like him [...] I don't even care if Hachiouji-san hates me or not.
Then when confronted she yells how she's never felt a thing for Hachiouji-san in her life. But, after that, he pours his heart out. Making it clear to her what he thinks and how he still feels about her despite all of that. Which also gets further depicted in the following chapters afterward.

I can go on but this has already gotten rather long.
Suffice to say, they're both at fault. Communication is key and they both could and should be doing better.

I mean, she deserves it, but it won´t stay like that. And it might be better, because she´s going to be an even bigger bitch.

It's just another side arc to avoid the fact that the Mangaka has no clue how to move the main arc and characters forward. Let's face it, this is a Dairy Farm of the most obvious proportions.

At this point I want these two to get more growth more than the main couple, because oh my god are these two hard to read. They're just too unlikeable to me, I actively groan when I open a chapter and remember that the manga is focused on them right now and probably won't change for a while.

It is so much more fun to follow this manga through the comments than to actually read it lmao. Keep it coming guys. Still rooting for the Marika/Sawa end because that would probably cause 300 pissed-off comments and become the most hilarious moment in MD history.

Well then, not a good place to leave off at. Hmph.

Also, the comments complaining about the main lead not getting screen time are just sad. I must wonder, why do people keep regurgitating the same garbage stories over and over? Its been done many times before. "Durr hurr shy otaku kid is crushed in by the school idol! Except this time she's literally a goddess!" His attempts to unidol8ze her are half-baked and don't go anywhere so the dynamic is the same as every other story. The side couple is much better because they're both very flawed and actually have relationship progression. I suppose this "break-up" is something temporary for Marika to start listening to those around her. She's very arrogant, this being shown as early as chapter 2. She tries to overcome this but keeps falling back to her ways when a new challenge confronts her. I suppose this arc will let her grow further while still keeping that arrogant side of hers

The only reason I care about this manga is because it gets uploaded on MD and people comment. God bless everyone who comments here.
