Honestly? Makes it more bearable for me, it's a consensual thing between two people. The girl just doesn't like the guy we thought she did. From her and the tutor's perspective, this is a normal love story. It makes it decent in its own way, how many times in a romcom do we see a mob character who likes the girl, but is comedically shoed away?
