Alas, given how these sorts of stories are structured, that won't be resolved until a big "he confronts her about his trauma" moment to get everything out in the open.

Something will happen to trigger his PTSD—maybe Izumi and the brother will run into each other at the mall, and then Tohno will spot them really hitting it off (probably by talking about him, but he won't know that); perhaps they'll be trying to plan a surprise birthday party for Tohno and Izumi will innocently ask for the brother's contact information so they can rope him into it; could be anything, really—and it'll explode for a couple chapters while he works through it all, has his emotional confrontation, and they resolve it.

We all know that this is exactly what's going to happen. And that would be reeally boring but oh well

I guess it's her parents fault for indulging her too much, to the point it was disrupting their work-life balance. Boundaries are healthy and it's important to teach that to your kids without making them feel guilty.

That's hardly indulgence. The budget says expenses go tuition and extra lessons. Even if those extras are temporary flights of fancy, they are still enrichment for the child's development, especially since she chose them herself. This is exactly what a good parent does, even it's tough to budget. What else would you even spend money and effort on if not the kids? It's the whole point of working while rasing a family.

Cause it's not just "Oh yeah we forgot to give her negative emotions and realistic worries to make her relatable we should probably do that" She's always felt like a person, just not one who's thoughts we were constantly aware of like most manga characters. Which is actually how people are to each other irl, so actually in us only knowing what Tohno perceives she now comes across as even more realistic of a character despite us only ever seeing what's on the surface and I feel like I just pointed out something incredibly obvious but whatever, it's cool, we know just as much about her as Tohno, it's like all the good parts of what self insert probably should be instead of a way for incels to form parasocial attachments to fictional women. I got off topic, point is I like this manga.
