So we found the source of the shadows and I suppose once she realised the truth, all the shadows got released.
And the reason for it all, one sided friendship/crush and the other party forgetting about them after getting separated.

Really does hilight the power of the Japanese ghost. Even before she faded into a shadow creature, she killed at least 36 people and wasn't even aware of it. What is this, Forbidden Planet?

In the previous installment (chapter 2), Akari was craving for mass attention that came at a terrible cost.
Now she has more (negative) attention than anyone would want, while her forgotten childhood friend is the only one wanting serious attention between them, but cannot have it. Very sad.

good you were able to reunite, idk if anyone in my elementary school would've recognized the way i acted in high school tho idk if i would've wanted to i'm sure some are fine now but not sure if anything in common versus 'everyone in the same class is automatically friends' even with some having closer cliques/groups
