Maki is truly a based daughter.
What would be more based is her having a strong mother instead of one being mothered by her daughter.
If it weren't for her past life she would end up fucked in the head as an adult with a parent like that (also single mom?). Though it does make for a believable and compelling backstory for a child actress (yes, I am in fact suggesting here that almost all TV actors are mentally ill and their pursuit of acting is fuelled mainly by their childhood trauma of having their basic needs unmet, how could you tell?)
Also I am no actor myself, but Ojisan is just making shit up to feel better about the world. He's really hanged up on his acting ability and he puts blame for his failure on that, but For TV and film actors your acting skills comes in the 4th or 5th place, after looks, brand, connections etc. Basically it doesn't really matter. He was probably already a great actor, he just gained confidence and a pretty face to go with it, when he was reborn.
