As I put in my credits page for the series, I found that Kiji-sama is apparently an obscure deity worshiped by a historical caste of Japanese woodworkers called the Kijishi.

Fascinating. Not technically what I asked, as I was curious of how it was written in the raws. Though, I guess if it was written in hiragana or katakana there wouldn't be a lot to glean.

So looks like they're referring to the Kijimunā? Is that what I'm seeing? Hmm... Interesting.

If she's a Kijimunā that suggests... Mmm. Well. It'll be interesting to look for clues on that front.

This thing has the "supernatural" tag, so she's definitely not just your random yandere from next door. Kitsune could be, but if so then Ayame is likely an evil one. Could be a Yokai or Shinigami. Or perhaps the miko or local deity of a now ruined shrine who came to hate the place because the folks abandoned her. At the very least she seems to grant MC's wishes to some degree. And Ayame is definitely a looker. MC is gonna be in for a wild ride here.

Let's see how this develops.

She's in the missing persons poster that shows up after he leaves his work. This is probably going the same way as that one manga where a girl goes missing and a giant ass spider-skinwalker thing takes her place and tries to fuck the mc.

Well a Kijimuna is from Okinawa specifically, but in general there seems to be a number of similarly named myths across Japan that denote a malevolent forest spirit that must be appeased by anyone looking to travel into the more forested regions of the country, and was likely a story that premodern Japanese mothers told their children to stop them from dicking around in the woods and going missing as a consequence.

Man, I don't know if she needs the fixing. At some point Japan needs to look at their own society and fix their overwhelmingly oppressive culture of hammering down anyone that doesn't conform to their standards - local or foreign. Their declining birth rates, high suicide rates, and now rising trend of young people fleeing the country is all pointing to a systemic problem they as a society have refused to address for the last 30+ years.

Maybe the dad can be less abusive, the neighborhood less condescending, and the students being less violent/thuggish... But our MC does need some help and growing as a teenager. Unfortunately, not all help is what one would expect and need...

Regardless, this manga should make a decent read.

I guess she is some japanese mythical shit, a kitsune maybe...

I don't know if she's a "fox demon"; I'm eyeballing it from page 50 but her nails seems to have grown and became sharpened... and given the amount of gore on page 56... Yeah, someone gouged the dad's eyes out and cut his arms off.
If I have to guess what type of demon she is... Probably a "Kuchisake-onna" (口裂け女, also on wikipedia), which is a more modern demon.
I'm actually quite concerned she left his "Omamori" charm behind in his dad's car. I guess our MC is about to go through a lot more worse shit. I hope his mom will be OK, but given how shi**y most of the townspeople seems to be... well, fingers crossed.
