It's a dumb plan. So you wait until Christmas and put everything on the other party. Just so you can then wait again until valentines? By the time that rolls around I'm sure something else will come up where they put it off again for another few months. Its a "spin the wheels" with a different coat of paint.

Okay a deadline is MUCH better. Valentine's Day is even still within the same school year (in Japan). So they just started as second years and will definitely confess or be confessed to before they move up to their third and final year (where we've also just been told they'll have to pick an elective/study course). Pretty good track to end the series or present a third year that's a lot more of an epilogue in feeling with a different status quo.

I think I figured out why I like this series so much and why it feels so different to other stories in this genre (Romance Slice-of-Life Love Triangles). Not only are Amane and Ijichi super likable, but they actually talk to each other about every single thing regarding their love for Otaku-kun. No sabotage, no friendship breaking drama, no going behind each other's back, just straight up honesty. It also helps that the story took it's time getting to this point, where they just gradually started realizing their feeling over the course of these 80 or so chapters. I can't imagine an ending without all three of them together. I feel like at this point it would literally be a betrayal for what this entire series has been about so far.
