yes, this happens often with anime adaptations of manga. Mangaka have page count limitations because usually they are sharing space with other manga in a magazine which only has so many pages they can print. So a mangaka can’t show everything they want to show, sometimes. Most mangaka who get a anime adaptation consult closely with anime production teams, and it sometimes gives them a chance to redo or add things to flesh out events or characters more that they weren’t able to do in the manga. This happened with Frieren quite a bit too, especially in regards to Fern recently.

I just said that this is a fucking fantasy like totally bruh what's your point? by "real take" I didn't mean realism I mean that only one girl will have her way with him there is no option for a middle ground

It pains me to no end that sooooo many romcoms just have the most boring "just your average guy" guys as protagonists, deliberately, as an audience self-insert husk, because it makes the romances profoundly less interesting. Like give these dudes  something that makes them attractive for the women to be interested in. The go-to is usually "studying" but legit any interesting skills or hobbies or abilities that make them seem like a well-rounded person would be nice. I hate that you'll get dynamic girls with lots of character and charisma inexplicably falling head-over-heals for dudes that are just "nice" as the beginning and end of their characters.

You seem to not understand the problem, and are being weirdly derogatory over a comment about an opinion on character writing, especially for someone that supposedly values being nice and respectful...

Look, idgaf how "earnest and nice and respectful" behavior might be endearing IRL if it means a character in a story is boring as hell and uninteresting to read about when that characters only character traits are "nice and respectful", "meek", and "likes a cartoon". Hell, "Nice and Respectful" in both writing and IRL is the bare minimum for a friendly, charismatic interaction to take place. When making a purchase in a store, ideally the cashier and customer are both being nice and respectful to eachother, but that is still an uneventful and banal interaction.

You can be nice and earnest and all that BS in a multitude of ways that actually are charismatic and pleasant to be involved in and are informed by a larger pool of character traits that make for an interesting, well-rounded character interaction that I would enjoy reading about. Like with our boy Seo here: he is not charismatic, just "nice" and while earnest most of his "earnest feelings" are the most basic, plain and simple sort of positive affirmations. He is waaaaaay better than some other examples, but still is just a plain blank slate for readers to self-insert themselves as and use to fantasize about the more interesting characters.

clearly didn't read my reply, this isn't a fantasy, it happens in real life, a fantasy is a moment or story that would be normally impossible in the real world, but in today's world, poly relationships are more normal and real than you might think
