Eh, it's not like "Two super hot and with awesome characters girls both simultaneously and completely fall in love with same average at best looking, nondescript otaku guy, because plot, shared hobby and hanging out" isn't already deep into fantasy world logic. Might as well make the girls fine with poly throuple. I'm not saying hot girl can't ever get with otaku guy IRL, but the whole intense love triangle here isn't realistic in the first place, especially with both girls happening to being absolute top tier including looks (some of hottest babes in school, why no nerdy looking love interest?) and being so much into the male MC.

When I said "Fantasy" I meant in the literal genre sense of a swords & sorcery world where polygamy would be in-universe justified. A story set in what is ostensibly the "real" world (or a manga equivalent of it) is not likely to go down that route because the real world doesn't readily embrace multi-partner relationships the way some sort of "I swear it's not Middle-Earth/Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest" land of elves and magic does.

That's not what rap music videos taught me! And frankly, just like a lot, lot more people are cheating compared to how many than would admit openly, I bet way more people are in "weird" relationships, including open ones, than would admit openly to other people. I don't think them ending in some sort of poly triangle, at least for the short time remaining in high school, without telling other people about their relationship, is that more fantastical than couple of super hot and very nice girls simultaneously befriending and falling for the same average otaku guy, with barely any effort from his side.

I don't think I've ever read a manga where the romantic partners were this evenly and equitably matched. The closest I can think of was Komi-san, but everyone knew who was going to win that one (I even wrote a lament to the fact that Manbagi's romance was only in the story for the tragedy of her loss). Whereas if someone ran a poll for this manga, I could see either girl winning - and quite a few people angry that both of them couldn't. I rarely think this of manga, but the character work here is fantastic.

Straight up yeah. The only time I've ever seen a clear "oh they're both gonna win" thing like this was in deliberate harem manga where that's the point, not a romance. These two both look like leads and are perfect in their roles. You root equally for both of them. They both feel like perfect matches for the male lead.

yeah, it's Japanese quotation marks. you may think square brackets look good but it makes no sense, so I had to ask. Language is more about meaning than visual aesthetics. It's okay to be ignorant just pull it in if you're confronted by it 👍

It's the same thing when we use ' ' for highlighting something or " " for quotations. For languages its probably irrelevant, but visually it does matter. In another manhwa we do, I use [ ] for terms that appear in the story, even though in the original they don't use anything for it, but it improves the reading experience.
