I can't help but wonder if Japan is really as rapey as manga makes it seem.

@Duribu - it's really hard to tell. Japanese are infamous for their habit of pretending everything is okay.
From the official statistics, Japan is one of the safest countries in the world. But statistics are made by people who are even more liars than ordinary Japanese, right?

I've read something about Western women who have gone to Japan for work having trouble. Handsy drunks for instance. Other women telling them "that's just how it is," or even blaming them for dressing too "provocatively" and such. Which would likely be defined as wearing anything besides one of those suits people wear while training dogs to apprehend criminals, I guess. But yeah, it's hard to tell because that thing I read didn't exactly have verified sources or anything, and a lot of victims always keep things to themselves anyway never mind in a place like Japan where keeping up appearances and not rocking the boat can be super important.

I never been to Japan but Japanese Media over exaggerate a lot of stuff, in reality Japan is very depressing IIRC, also Japan is a far better country to live in then say North Korea or China, Japan is actually pretty similar to the USA because Japan surrendered at the end of WWII and the USA got them to make many changes
