Maybe you guys should also place a "Please read at MangaDex (or insert your own site here)" instead of just telling them not to read at MangaFox because whyshouldtheylistentoyou, theyhavenoideawhereelsetoread
Aye, some message like "read it *here*, where this chapter got snatched from" or w/e might have more of an effect,
also would strike against anyone snatching it rather than just those you named at the time.
@traveling_chef The thing is, the people that read on mangafox don't care as long as they get to read it for free on mangafox. There's something on MF that they prefer rather than being on MD. This does nothing to deter them. Aggregators are not a new problem. I believe that if a scanlator chooses to localize a work for the people, it is in order to SHARE something they found and loved so that others may love it as well. Anyone becoming a scanlator should understand the various risks. I understand that's not how it always works (especially in the case of money-grubbing groups like MS), but this just denigrates the art. They've done nothing but take a fat shit on the artist's hard work. God forbid the original artist sees this page. We already operate in a grey area, but defacing their work does nothing but make the scanlators look even worse to them. A simple message at the top is all that was needed, just like they used to do with the link to their site. But I understand that what will be done, will be done.
@kurisu Thanks to your group, I own all 3 volumes of this great series. Thank you for your hard work
@noh3face to be honest none of it matters, in the past I've seen aggregators just white out those kinds of watermarks, or do what mangafox did and just waited till they put out the non watermarked one to steal it. all we all can do is read it here and hope for the best i suppose :/
