It’s 500+ chapters but in 4koma style...a lot less in comparison to regular 100+ chapters that a lot of mangas have.

A normal manga will usually have 18 pages + cover. So 500/18 is only 27 chapter for a published manga.

Two things.
1) This series was never meant to go past chapter 30, it got popular and ended up continuing.
2) If this wasn't a 4 koma we would only be on Chapter 13 or 17.

compared to pretty much any webcomic the plot moves pretty fast. 500 pages isn't much by webcomic standards either...

Point is still valid. 500+ pages is still a lot of pages for very little to happen.
The plot so far could easily be covered in less than 50 pages.

This series doesn't suddenly become "not slow" because of the single page format. If anything, breaking the continuity in this manner makes it feel even slower.
