I wonder if he accidentally killed his own mom and blames someone else for it. Or maybe she found out about his Dark Magic and turned against him and he blames someone else for it. I would think if his mom was disgraced in some way, that it would be the talk of the school and he would have never been popular.

@HOOfan_1 It was mentioned before that you aren't born with dark magic, you have to kill someone to get it, likely through some ritual. There's not enough information on it, but it's very likely that he was normal before, but something happened and he got dark magic. Considering that flashback with his mother, she's probably dead and him getting revenge likely has something to do with her death and him getting dark magic. That, or as Kyujyu theorized, maybe his mom had the ritual done so he could have that power. Seems unlikely considering that it was fondness he had for his mom in the flashback not distrust, and it's not hate he seems to feel when Bakarina says the same lines, but it's possible she's somehow involved in a way where he would hate his mom.

Something seems off about the President. Not sure who he's seeking revenge on but seems like it was a severe trauma a long time ago and important enough for him to push for it despite being a nice guy. Can't make tea daily for someone truly hate as if did hate her would only make it occasionally and seems more afraid of her presence. After all, instead of killing Marie or the MC he knocked them out. Also, that smiling black mist seems like something evil that's pushing him like he's possessed by an evil spirit. Too little info to go on but likely was forced into ritual for Dark Magic as a kid as only said someone had to die as part of the ritual, not whether person getting Dark Magic had to perform ritual or murder someone themselves. In any case we'll probably find out about his past and what want revenge for sometime in the next few chapters. Considering MC thought Sophie was a lot like her previous life friend A-chan I'd say Sophie is a reincarnation of A-Chan but only some personality and memories waking up due to MC being comatose rather than full recall like with MC. Would help them know who the secret pursuit target is but not likely to have any info on waking MC up unless game had someone get cursed to sleep too.

oh lord i feel like he's got a badly misunderstood backstory
the 'person he killed' to obtain dark magic might be his mother, since he appears to feel deep sadness and somewhat regretful towards her. that was why he was still kind and lenient towards katarina, because she reminded him of her. i can bet the death was unintentional, or he was forced to, and it led him to feel guilt/hatred towards forcees and go down the dark path.
he doesn't seem genuinely evil. if the person he sacrificed was truly his mother, then he hasn't actually killed anyone. i would've thought that maria would be tortured or chained or something, but he simply put her unconscious. she did not undergo any physical harm.
plus there was that crying scene when he put katarina to sleep. he's bent on 'revenge,' so again, if theory 1 is correct, then he's seeking vengeance for his mother. he wishes to overpower the people that forced his hand at a young age when he was weak. seeing how he's bent on the high nobility circle, i think it's safe to assume his enemy is high up in the ranks, maybe related to one of our mcs.
conclusion: prez is going to simp for bakarina in the near future and i'm living for it
