This so far feels barely different than the original. There's not enough resistance to Katarina suddenly changing face. Unlike in the original work she's been the garbage person she was in the game for most of her life up til now. They shouldn't be so willing to trust her. Even with the changes there are they don't really feel like they justify this existing so far.

I hope this one would be more serious than he original, the whole point of the spin off is that she has the memories later there must be some consequence because of it, gerald wasn't bored by her because of the change so he is more inclined to be with her and maria is just a good girl, but still it feel too similar to the original one just without the harem.

I really enjoy the new characters as well as katarina's new relationship with Mary and Alan, she has a social circle with many kinds of relationship now and not just love interest like in the original series.

I mean this story has a lot more drama potential than the original, so I look forward to new chapters

I feels like the mariaxbakrina ship is even stronger in this one now that there is only 2 potential love interest and Gerold don't just love katarina in this timeline

That is one of the reasons this feels lazy, it is just a repeat of the original but with a different start. There is nothing new to it and she is not making use of her environment nor position to come up with different solutions. A example of this is that she should not have started a farm as she is in a school and should have looked up some teacher to tell her how to increase her magical power instead of reading it in a book as assuming things, Katarina is stupid not an idiot, she would know to look for a teacher in a school to learn about something the same way she did with the sword thing which is also something that should not have come up.
In the end it is the same story as the original with nothing new to it.

Instead of secret admirers, the people that Katarina met so far became her friends instead.

Then there is the inclusion of new characters that were not or less present in the OG timeline.

I will be surprise if Katarina's magic becomes stronger here too.

Maybe Sirius/Rafael will also get a more prominent role.

We are still at Chapter 7 and maybe more differences will be introduce in later chapters.

Even on the seventh chapter, there are still a lot of complaints about this story being just a rehash of the original with a few tweaks. I just need to weigh in.

It cannot be denied that this spin-off manga resembles the original a great deal. The main reason is that because the MC is still the same MC. She's only had a late start. It's only natural for things to gravitate towards the original timeline. But there are indeed noticeable discrepancies. First and foremost has to be Mary's obsession for Katarina has been exchanged for friendship and some love for Alan. Then there's Keith and Sienna and this new guy with the squint eyes. My opinion is that: yeah, it's a lot of the same stuff, but what's the problem? If you're reading this story, then you probably liked the first one, so what's wrong with rereading the story with some new elements to spice things up? Also, it's a little too soon to say this story is too similar to the original since there's only been seven chapters so far. Things might digress later down the line.

But yeah, that was too serious of a comment. Bakarina is funny. More Bakarina content should be celebrated!
