What an absolute expert play from Mayoi. She studied her opponent, found Kaoru's weak points and then resisted her attacks until Kaoru became sloppy and opened herself up to a critical blow.

It's a textbook example of keeping the pace slow and measured against a fast offensive player. Maoyi's resistance against Kaoru's high and intense charisma has been nothing short of exceptional.

Going forward I expect Kaoru to struggle to regain her footing. She'll likely go on the attack again only to find herself cornered by yet another counter.

Mayoi will be able to press this advantage into the late game where the vast gap in experience may prove to be an issue for her but if she can push a lead this early topping is indeed a strong possibility.
