@SotiCoto It wasn't gacha content. It was more traditional microtransactions and small DLCs, nothing random, though. He knew what he was buying. He just bought them to clear the game faster.

@SotiCoto Depends on how you look at it. The game was wickedly designed so that it would be annoying to play it through by relying on the default gear only, which would encourage dedicated players to spend real money to make it more tolerable. I guess the game was otherwise splendid because it's hard to imagine that many people spending extra money just to be able to play it through without losing their sanity. But then again, Japanese games do often have more grinding than Western ones, in addition to a higher level of difficulty, so I suppose Japanese gamers might be somewhat more dedicated to games in general.

@Kaarme : What I'm really getting at here is why anyone would pay for that stuff in a single-player offline game. It kinda makes a sick and twisted sense to do it online against other players, since people getting competitive against each other would result in increased spending on all sides.
But offline... alone... the guy might as well just use a save editor or trainer, depending on format.

@onipuck It's a poorly written Otome game, I just don't know if it's intentionally poorly written like those in "Cheating men must die" or w/e it's called or it's incidentally poorly written. Judging by the first chapter it's incidentally poorly written but who knows.

Hmm. This world is a blend of our world and a gender reversed one. Men still are expected to go to war but they can't be married above the age of 20. I don't know why it's this way but it's interesting nonetheless.

The game intro & background reminds me of SkyForge but that one is far from Otome/Bishoujo game setup lol but they invest heavily in adventures with the help of deities & gods. But I like it because it's free & the character customisation stage is superb. I recommend SkyForge.
