I disagree, because fooling around is perfectly on par with timeloop movies, see:
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Groundhog Day,Stork Day,Happy Death Day 2,Palm Springs,Boss Level.

I liked the idea of teenagers fooling around in a school while grounded by otherwise real world physics and conventions.

I also find it unfair to call it the cause of its demise when there are so many series that like to meander on pointless side plots instead of addressing the main issues and that can survive for many issues (Medaka box,2.5 seduction,Dress up darling,etc,)

After reading all 27 chapters my final opinion: Ending has ruined everything. Dude literally waited for decades or hundreds of years before finally crossing the line with her (basically when she lost any hope). He didn't want to cross the line for very vague reasons, heck i would understand 1 year but XXX amount of years? When the girl clearly shows sigh's of love as do you? (This reduced my rating on romance, killed the romance vibe). And what does scum of a author does next? He freaking shows images where they go totally insane and where he bangs other girls (like making a girl wait for who the heck knows how many years (decades or hundreds i think), just for that moment to be ruined with next panel).

Let's also adres if author truly wanted to milk the cow, they could do it more pleasantly but author goes from pleasant to really dark in the last few chapters (way to ruin the mood).
Author also could expand the story by 1 volume, by introducing how they have met and started conversing and etc. (quite an interesting story plot that could have been exploited either at the start or midway).

Honestly author wanted to milk the cow with slice of life or was in stupor after some point and the series really tanked.

Japanese reception was negative that's why it was axed, people there called bullshit really early on.
MC is a lunatic who has 0 sympathy. Freaking herbivore little shit with 0 integrity, a rat of sorts.
You expect that it takes a girl so much time to finally open his shell and maybe something majestic would come out of that shell, nope a fucking slime comes out (princess kisses the toad and we expect a prince, nope still a toad).
In essence he was playing hard to get, the end result was just a tedious road for a girl for a subpar guy.

I understand russian so i've read it here (kinda was shocked to find it to be fully translated when checked below).
You can also check chapter 26 and 27 to understand why i was pissed if you apply what i described. (Why i tell about decades or hundreds of years? In chapter 25 i think you can see it in their eyes that they are exhausted, i was shocked in chapter 26 that they still didn't cross the line by that time only when she needed to self delete herself did the asshole finally decided to comfort her).
By the way chapter 27 is called Tuesday (Loop was in monday).

In essence all of that build up was screwed over by 2 chapters (maybe 3-4 last chapters). Likely author wanted to expand the idea but his idea expansion was TOO DARK compared to the initial chapters. "Minors" (technically they are still) road raging, killing, drinking alcohol, smoking, suicides, maybe killing, sexual debauchery and etc. (Some of these events are seen in chapter 26 in mini panels) So editor told him to close the project because it was too much for them (i can understand why). It's rare when authors change direction to 90^ or 180^ goes well, flak comes from both the fans and the publisher.

When you read about 2 teens in the loop in a school setting that has comedy and some goofy insane elements implemented then they suddenly turn 100% tragedy, drama, psychological it gives of a weird vibe. This writing style isn't new but it requires great skill to transition it sharply like the author did. Rarely did i see when any intellectual work that turned directions sharply succeed. Seen it in gaming(C&C command conquer series, legends from 1 to 3 only to be destroyed by 4th installment), mangas and books (rarely in movies and tv series).

Spoiler: My opinion on Japanese is indeed false (checked it)

The last statement about Japanese reception is indeed my speculation. In reality Japanese audience received it mildly for the lack of better terms it's nothing special or impressing. My comment "Freaking herbivore little shit with 0 integrity, a rat of sorts." is mostly my frustration and difference in "east" vs "west" mentality (Japan is a little special even if compared to China or Korea).
What we see (confidently can say ME not we) as pathetic herbivore behaviour it's normal in Japan, they do have herbivore epidemic and it is a known problem but there are too much herbivore men there already, so they take up the consumer market strongly so they won't criticize themselves.

ALSO after reading japanese commentators: They praised "The Long Summer of August 31"(check on mangadex) and speculated that this manga stole the idea from The long Summer. I didn't read it yet but i'm planning to read it, to my understanding The long Summer of August is less dramatic and more aligned with what i wished to see (i.e. progression instead of random time skips). It has more chapters in english around 33 right now.

Axed or author simply gave up(didn't know where to go with his story). Also likely publishers wasn't in tune with author thoughts on the story. It became too dark too quickly and they gave author 1-2 chapters to do the ultra dark tone before ending his contract. Dark undertones were there from beginning but chapter 25-26 the something like from a different manga.
They could not allow author to publish more with them and finding a new publisher for not popular established series is a damn pain for everyone.

that was a weird and abrupt end. He finally cross the line, i didnt understand why not until some dude mentioned he had sex w other girls. Crossing that line rid him of his moral so he was popping pills and raping people. I dont understand how they manage to break the loop but this one is an interesting read, ideas couldve been executed better. Guess its a spin on immortality and looping hell, i wouldnt wish to be in or having to sacrifice off my humanity

Manga like this are pretty depressing to read when you've spent your fleeting high school years playing video games alone in your room EVERY DAY instead of trying out new things like this story's protagonist. I wish I did more exciting things in those days like play in a band, group karaoke, going to the beach, and ditching school to hang with a girl. I'm no longer a teenager, and I won't be considered "young" for much longer, but it's not too late for me to start "living". The only thing stopping me are my own do-nothing tendencies I've built up over the past decade.

I'm not sure if stirring up these feelings was the authors intention, but this piece of art made me realize something. I'm not stuck in a mystifying timeloop where I won't age, and that's precisely why I need to make the days count instead of counting them as they pass me by.

You are right, I am still at my high school days and I am taking all my to spent it doing fun and funny things. I've loved this manga, it really talks about reality and it affects a lot of people's lives.
