Oof, this was a tough read. Painful when imagining the pain Mahiru had to go through, which she had no control over. Her parents are just scum, and I hope they don't have any kids in the future, as they've shown exactly what any decent parent should NEVER do.

What the hell, no child should go through that, being abandoned by their own parents.. I can't imagine just how painful it is for the child..

This hurt even more than the episode in the anime🥺at least in the show she had Amane there! Poor girl had to go through this for 16 years
This was one of the many chapters that the anime skipped, and I really wish it hadn't!

I haven’t read the light novels but I know they’re pretty popular. I’m surprised they crammed so much into 12 episodes given it’s popularity! I thought it would’ve been spread out a bit more. No way in hell did they not anticipate they were getting a season 2

I can related to mahiru to some extend. I was being considered to be aborted, and my mother told me that it almost end her life when she give a birth of me. Sometimes, suicidal thoughts came to me because "i shouldnt be born, should i just die then". But i'm really glad that i still have family unlike mahiru which is worse

It's crazy how many mangas and tv shows that wouldnt exist if parents just said "thank you" and "good job!" to their children like once a week
